What is PRP?

How is PRP therapy performed for hair growth?

Dr. Pham performs this treatment using the following 3-step process:

1. Blood is drawn from your arm, much like when you have lab work done.
2. The blood is processed in a special centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the red and white blood cells.
3. After numbing the thinning areas of the scalp with a local anesthetic, Dr. Pham injects the PRP.

How many PRP treatments will I need for my hair loss?

The number of treatments needed depends on your degree of hair loss and response to treatment. Initially, Dr. Pham recommends 2 to 3 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments are required every 4 to 6 months.

When will I see hair growth from PRP therapy?

Patients typically start to notice results in 3 to 4 months because hair grows in cycles. Final results take approximately 6 to 12 months to achieve.
